Endura Baabaa Merino Socks Review

Endura Baabaa Merino Socks
The Endura Baabaa Merino socks are an amazing pair of autumn / early winter socks. Being not much thicker then the average summer sock, they are very soft and manage to keep your feet warm even when wet.

Why we like them so much?

Made from 93% Merino wool, 3% Lycra and 4% nylon, they are light, warm enough and very feel very pleasant on your feet. As far as durability goes, they are reinforced at the toes and heel and we managed to get one full season with the two pack without any noticeable wear. Ventilation is not a problem, since the top is a bit mash like so any extra moisture will be wicked away from your feet with ease.

Being lighter then the usual winter sock, you can use them with your summer shoes due to the fact they do not add bulk to your feet and can fit in perfectly without making your shoes feel tighter. Last autumn we tried the Endura Baabaa Merino socks with our Sidi Dominator 5 Lorica shoes, no complaints there, even when weather got colder they provided enough warmth in the Shimano SH-MW81 GORE-TEX MTB shoes.

As far as bad odors are concerned there were not any even after day after day sweating in these socks. Also there are no special care instructions needed for washing them.

Pros: Feel great, durable, light and warm, two pack, excellent price

Cons: None

Value: 10/10, Highly recommended

  1. I had 2 pairs of these and both now have HUGE holes in the heels and ball of foot areas… Great warmth and grill inside sealskins, but thé unexpected large ventilation holes in them in less them. 20 times worn on 2hour or less mtb rides.

  2. I’ve got these and I have to say they’re very warm. warmer than what they look like (they feel like thin, normal summer socks) Rides at 5-10ºC with no overshoes on (summery, very well ventilated) Mavic shoes and still felt the difference. The only thing is, that after repeated washing at 40ºC, they appear to shrink. So far they feel good quality though. I also have the merino multitube from the same guys – that one’s a marvel. On a ride at +1ºC I always felt like having a just-ironed piece of clothing around my neck at all times. Love it.
