The Zefal Deflector FM60 front mudguard provides excellent protection and compatibility with wide range of mountain bike forks. Although the mounting requires the use of an Alan Wrench (included in the box) once you put it on, it is quite easy to do it again. Made from the same Techno-polymer resin with a lighter more flexible rubber like material on the ends like the Zefal Deflector RM60 rear mudguard, it is quite flexible and lightweight at just 145g.
It is wide enough to block all that comes its way even on my 2.25” tires. The only thing I have noticed so far and I don’t like is when going through obstacles like sidewalks or large roots it tends to make contact with the tire due to the decreased distance between the fork mount and the tire, but that is to be expected.
The Zefal Deflector FM60 Front Mudguard is intended to be used on 26” tires and is not compatible with 29ers. The rear mudguard from the same series is the Zefal Deflector RM60.
Pros: Nice fit, some adjustment options, large number of forks supported, tools included in the box. easy to use
Cons: A bit more distance between the tire and the rear part of the mudguard would be nice (this might be an issue from the shallow hole of my fork)
